The Top-level Research Initiative
The TRI aims to develop reliable climate models to predict future climate change, while at the same time better preparing society to deal with the impacts of climate change.
Sub-programmes
The Top-level Research Initiative consists of six sub-progammes encompassing the entire solution chain from research on climate change and its impact on society, to innovation and the development of solutions within environmental technology, energy efficiency and new forms of energy. NordForsk has a particular responsibility for the first two sub-programmes:
- Effect studies and adaptation to climate change
- Interaction between climate change and the cryosphere
- Energy efficiency with nanotechnology
- Integration of large-scale wind power
- Sustainable bio-fuels
- Co2 - capture and storage
